My October Half Term

In the holidays, i did lots of fun things but of them all my favourite was going to see a Michael Jackson tribute concert. Michael Jackson is my favourite singer and going to see the tribute concert was one best things I've ever done. I went to the tribute with my Sister, Dad, his girlfriend, and her daughter Katy. We are all big Michael Jackson fans but some of the people there absolutely worshipped him! The person in front of me had a life size picture of his face tattooed on their back! There was also a little boy dressed in a sparkly M.J outfit (complete with white glove!) he looked just like young Jacko! The show started with one of Michael's latest songs 'Jam' and we were all shocked by the blindingly bright light and loud bang that announced the start of the song. 'Jam' was followed by 'Smooth Criminal' which i personally thought was one of his best dances. Michael Jackson was played by the hugely talented Amir Sharma who sang, danced and even looked like M.J. When Amir really started to relax, you got the feeling that the magic of Michael Jackson was in the room. One of the songs i really enjoyed was 'Thriller' because it was really funny when the backing dancers came on as zombies and carried Amir away! Take a look at Michael Jackson's real video for 'Thriller' at the bottom of this post... Hope it doesn't scare you too much!!!
Although i enjoyed 'Thriller', my favourite song of the night was 'Billy Jean' because when he sang it, he sounded just like Michael Jackson and he performed it with a strong passion which had the audience singing along by the end of the song. I also liked this part of the show because it was the only song in which he danced M.J's signature move- the Moonwalk.

I also liked his performance for ‘smooth criminal’ because the dance moves were just how Michael Jackson does them in his music video for the song. Take a look at his awesome moves yourself in this music video...

Two other highlights of my holiday were visiting Kings Lynn with my grandparents and going to Holkham beach. I went to Holkham with my Mum, sister, and god mother Claudette. It was really nice going out with Claudette because we hardly ever see her anymore. We arrived in Holkham at around 10:00am and treated ourselves to cream tea at a pretty little cafe. Then we strolled down to the beach and continued walking till we reached Wells. When we finally got into the town, my feet ached so much that every step felt like i was standing on glass! After looking around the shops and having some lunch, we waited by the bus stop for the 'coasthopper' which would take us back to the car. We went to kings Lynn on the Wednesday on the second week of half term. We started our trip by going to the old gaol house where we learnt lots about the punishments they gave out in the olden days. After that, we had a nice lunch in a small underground cafe called 'The crypt' and wandered around in the beautiful sunny weather for a while before we headed off to sandringham. It quite hot in Sandrigham woods and so it was lovely walking through the trees and meadows especially with granddad's dog, Fred, lolloping along beside us!

HALLOWEEN!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all blogers!!! Don't you just love halloween! I think that it's one of the best days in the year...
REASONS WHY HALLOWEEN IS BEST DAY IN THE YEAR:
  • SWEETS!
  • Dressing up in goth clothing
  • Scaring anyone who dares to come near your house...
Anyway, google seem to think that halloween is cool as well- take a look at this awsome video they made for all the excited trickortreaters in the world.
Remember to be careful when lighting your pumkin and try not to terrify people with fake (but very realistic) spiders and bats...
           HAPPY HALLOOWEEN!!!!!!!

'Grace Kelly' review

Grace Kelly"is a song from MIKA's album Life in a Cartoon Motion. It was recorded in 2006 and released for download on January 9, 2007. The track as number one in the UK Singles Chart for five weeks, and ended 2007 as the year's third biggest-selling single in that country. It was designed to be a mocking satire of musicians who try to reinvent themselves to be popular. The song is titled after Grace Kelly, an Academy Award winning American film and stage actress, and Princess of Monaco. I love this song because it cheers me up when I'm down and always puts a smile on my face. "Grace Kelly" is a glam rock song and is also a good song to dance to. This is a real 'feel good' song that I'm sure you'll love if you like fast, bouncy beats and crazy lyrics.

WAR HORSE- book review

War horse by master storyteller Michael Morpurgo, is the moving story of a horse's incredible journey through the deadly first world war...
"We were parted that day in the terrible hubbub of the auction ring and I was never to see her again"
Joey, the six month old spindly, half-thoroughbred colt, is separated from his mother in the busy auction and is forced to start a new life as a farm horse. However, Joey soon finds a friend in the young boy Arthur who lives at the farm and soon the pair are inseparable. When Joey is just beginning to enjoy his new life, there is some terrible news.   England has declared war with Germany.

At first, no-one is worried. They don't believe the war will effect them at all. They'll just go on as normal & in a few months it will all be a distant memory.
"We'll give them such a hiding as they won't ever raise their fists again to anyone. It'll be over in a few months."
But one day the army comes to their small town in Devon and Joey's happy life is turned upside-down. Arthur's evil father is desperate for money and when he hears the army needs horses, he sees his opportunity. While Arthur is out he takes Joey and sells him to the army.

From that point, Joey lives a new dangerous life in the middle of World War 1 and with his new friend, the magnificent black horse Topthorn, Joey charges through the horrors of the front line. Trust, strength and courage are the only things that will carry the two horses out of the battlefields but will they make it? And will Joey ever see his beloved Arthur again?  Joey's tragic stories are sure to bring you to tears, this is a book you'll never forget.
"I saw the grey soldiers ahead of us raise their rifles and heard the death rattle of a machine gun..."

London!

In the summer holidays, I went to London with my family. First we went to Tower bridge where we went to the very top of the bridge. It was really scary and i couldn't look down at all!
Next, we went to Trafalgar Square. We sat by the big water fountain which was nice as it was a really hot day. However, as we started to eat our picnic, we became surrounded by pigeons all fighting over our food!We also went to the National art gallery. This is the great view of Trafalgar Square that we got from the gallery.
After that, we walked through the stunning parks until we reached Buckingham Palace. We then spent a while wandering through the beautiful state rooms of the palace. We also saw the royal wedding display with Kate Middleton's gorgeous wedding dress and a replica of the wedding cake!
When we got out of the Palace, we took a picture of it- doesn't it just       look beautiful! I'd love to live there!
Unfortunately, we had to leave so we would catch the train back home. I was really sad to be leaving but at least I've got some great memories!
As we walked back, we passed
the famous hotel 'the Ritz'

Stella

Recently Stella has decided that she no longer wants to drink out of her cat bowl but wants to drink out of our cups instead!!! I wondered where my drink was going... Luckily we caught her red-handed! Take a look at the pictures we took.

My Life

Hey welcome to my blog! Just encase you don't know who I am, I've written this post to give you a little taster of my life...ENJOY!
My name is Evie Sims, I'm 12 years old and my favorite things are cats, buttericing (you know that really nice swirly icing that you get on cupcakes!), and the song 'Grace Kelly' which is by Mika. I live with my Mum sister and adorable kitten Stella. Stella is who i named my blog after and her name means 'star' in Latin. I named her Stella because she has a pretty little star on her chest. She's the cutest little cat ever and is so funny! I love her to bits!
I also love my best friends Eve, Sarah, Amelia, Amy and Chelsea  who are so cool and crazy, life would be dull without them!
Finally, I just want to say that i hope you will like reading all of my further blogs! Have a good day!!!
